The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Business and Financial Services Division in Helena.
The Accounting Technician 2 Lead position is responsible for researching, coding and entering incoming cash and accounts receivable payments into the DPHHS receipting system and/or SABHRS. The position is responsible for ensuring that the established internal controls relating to collection process are maintained. This position also performs lead worker responsibilities.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity
- Knowledge of general accounting principles particularly relating to accounts receivable.
- Knowledge of procedures, theories, and concepts of governmental accounting.
- Considerable knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- Skills in communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, other agency personnel, and the public.
- Preferred knowledge of DPHHS programs and accounting structures.
- Preferred knowledge of the Statewide Accounting, Budgeting and Human Resource System (SABHRS) and DPHHS subsidiary accounting systems.
- Meet minimum qualifications:
- Associate degree in accounting, business, finance, or a closely related field of study.
- One year of job-related work experience.
- Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
