Position Title: Accountant - Aeronautics Division Financial Contact
The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for an Accountant – Financial Contact. This position oversees the administration and operation of all aspects of the finances and budgets for the Aeronautics Division. Provides a range of professional services to implement fiscal plans and program objectives related to state and federal budget projections, federal-aid contracts and programs, and ongoing financial processing. This position is part of a career ladder with career advancement opportunities. This position is part of the Administration Division and reports to the Accounting Services Bureau Chief. The successful candidate will partially work out of the Aeronautics building located on the airport and partially work out of the main Headquarters office. Required Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
· 1 year of related accounting experience.
· Alternative combinations of related experience and education may be considered. Such as 5 years of related experience.
· This agency may use a training assignment. Employees in training assignments may be paid below the base pay established by the agency pay rules. Conditions of the training assignment will be stated in writing at the time of hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of accounting.
· Knowledge of budgeting and financial management.
· Ability to communicate clearly and provide customer service to area supported.
