Division Overview:
Montana’s Division of Criminal Investigation is a diverse public safety team of professionals who provide a full range of criminal investigative services to state, local, and tribal law enforcement. From homicide investigations to illegal narcotics, criminal records, cybercrime, human trafficking, missing persons, or through training public safety officers, DCI serves as the hub in providing critical law enforcement support. The professionals within DCI are the lifeline of support for public safety. Job Overview:
The Legal Assistant is responsible for a variety of legal and administrative support services as provided to attorneys in the unit. Duties include tracking case materials, milestones, deadlines, and important dates; preparing legal documents; providing support to trial preparation activities; conducting research in response to various requests; formatting, processing, tracking and otherwise monitoring new or modified administrative rules for the Agency; and providing a variety of general administrative support services to the office.
Minimum Qualifications:
· High school diploma
· Two years of experience performing a variety of office support or clerical work.
· Other combinations of education and experience may be substituted.
Preferred Qualifications:
· One year of training in legal terminology or
· One year of experience in a legal office.
