Knowledge of (or ability to learn in a reasonable amount of time):
- The Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) and workforce programs and services.
- Data preparation practices including data validity, reliability, and quality assurance.
- Workflow documentation and process mapping.
- Data analysis, performance measurement, and business intelligence tools such as Tableau.
Ability to:
- Oversee complex analysis and interpretation of workforce data generated by the Montana public workforce system that serves as a basis for policy decisions, legislation and program performance.
- Serve as a technical expert for workforce system data and assist in defining data requirements per federal, state or department legislation (or similar directives).
- Research, evaluate, measure and assist in the maintenance of quality workforce system data in the system databases.
- Stay informed of pertinent labor legislation and public workforce system rules, regulations and policies and interpret reporting requirements and program requirements to ensure proper reporting.
- In consultation with program managers, draft comprehensive, consistent and appropriate policy guidance for workforce programs and confirm guidance with appropriate staff.
- Work with IT staff to identify and prioritize data system issues so work can be done to fix problems that contribute to erroneous reporting as well as work with IT staff on development of new processes within the data systems to support new requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Your preparation for this opportunity could include a combination of relevant experiences including:
- A bachelor's degree in one of the following: Mathematics, Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, Statistics, Economics, Computer Programming, or other research/analysis-related fields.
And
- A minimum of 2 years experience in positions that demonstrate skill in the research, analysis and solution of complex programs, materials and problems.
OR
- Any combination of equivalent experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position will be considered.
