The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has an Administrative Assistant - Clinical Services career opportunity within the Montana State Hospital.
The Montana State Hospital (MSH) in Warm Springs provides inpatient psychiatric treatment for adults with serious mental illness. MSH is the only public psychiatric hospital in Montana that serves people admitted from communities across the state.
Job Overview: This position provides administrative support to the Clinical Services department and the Therapeutic Learning Center at Montana State Hospital. The Administrative Assistant communicates program updates to staff through written and verbal correspondence as well as attends meetings.

Required for the first day of work:
- Must have a thorough knowledge of administrative practices and office procedures
- Must have knowledge of recording meeting minutes.
- Must be able to demonstrate effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to multitask, organize and prioritize work.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and be able to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive material.
- Must be proficient in the use of standard office equipment (facsimile, copy machine, etc.), including a personal computer and common software including Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to respond to stressful situations in a manner that helps the other individual de-escalate.
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, management, professional medical staff, and patients.
Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience):
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience performing administrative, office, or clerical support.
- One year experience in records retention processes and requirements preferred.
- Other combinations of education and experience may be substituted on a case-by-case basis.
