The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Montana Chemical Dependency Center.

 

The Montana Chemical Dependency Center (MCDC) located in Butte provides intensive in-patient treatment that cares for the disease of addiction including withdrawal management for substance use disorders and treatment for co-occurring mental health disease. MCDC provides the highest level or most intense level of treatment for addictions in the health care continuum funded by the state of Montana. MCDC engages with all community partners who provide and support addiction and recovery services to continue the lifelong journey of recovery.

 

This position is responsible for supervising non- licensed support services. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, providing direction, training, and supervision to all treatment technician services, problem solving and decision-making during crisis situations. This role also can entail coordinating and reviewing unusual incidents, patient grievances, complaints, and allegations of abuse.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity:

  • Knowledge of the basic principles and practices of human service coordination

  • Ability to identify problems, develop and implement solutions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

  • Skills in staffing and supervisory methods, practices, and techniques in a 24 hour a day/seven day a week environment.

  • Ability to participate in the development of treatment plans

  • Ability to deal calmly with high stress situations

  • Meet minimum qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, social work, or related human services field is preferred

    • Three years experience in behavioral health field

    • Two years of progressively responsible experience as a supervisor or manager in a health and human service setting, one of which was providing services to individuals with behavioral health issues

    • Equivalent combinations of directly related education and work experience may be considered

    • Must have or willing to obtain, prior to hire date, a valid CPR/AED/FIRST AID certification card.
