The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity as a Food Service Supervisor at the Montana Mental Health and Nursing Care Center.
The Montana Mental Health Nursing Care Center (MMHNCC) in Lewistown is a licensed residential facility for the long-term care and treatment of persons who have mental disorders and who require a level of care not available in the community.
The Food Service Supervisor/CDM, CFPP ensures the optimum nutritional status of the residents and implements diet plans and diet orders using appropriate modifications. The Food Service Supervisor determines amounts and specifications for purchase of foods, supplies, and equipment for the kitchen to ensure inventories meet quality standards and to maintain economic and efficient operation in the department. This position supervises sixteen food service staff members to ensure the department complies with all local, state, and federal regulations that govern the food service operation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Behaviors):
Required for the first day of work:
• Completion of the Certified Dietary Managers Course and maintain the Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional Certificate.
• Knowledge of cooking and food preparation.
• Knowledge of management of food service operation.
• Knowledge of personnel management and supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to operate personal computer and general office equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, including using spreadsheets, word processing, database, email, internet, and other computer programs.
• Ability to facilitate collaboration and cooperation with others.
• The work is determined by goals and objectives, state standards manual, and facility policies. The position is expected to independently plan the program and use experience, judgement, and discretion in solving problems or making decisions.
Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience):
· Certified Dietary Manager Association Certification, CDM, CFPP, ServSafe
· 3 to 4 years dietary experience in nursing home, hospital or industrial setting
· 2 to 3 years supervisory experience
