QUALIFICATIONS
The knowledge, skills and abilities for this position are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to:
- Knowledge of mathematical forecasting techniques for both revenues and expenditures.
- Knowledge of principles of research and policy analysis.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills; skills in conflict management, diplomacy and negotiating skills.
- Budgeting and accounting skills.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and to independently identify financial and policy issues.
- Ability to manage and complete multiple projects and priorities within constrained time limits.
- Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and other diverse written information and relate these to a layman’s perspective.
- Ability to foster collaboration and provide effective leadership to staff.
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance, public administration, accounting, business administration, or a closely related field.
- Five years of work related experience with the legislative budgeting process.
- Two years of supervisory experience.
Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
