Correctional Sergeant

High School diploma.  

Successful completion of Corrections & Detention Officer Basic Training at the Montana Law Enforcement Academy within the first year of employment. 

Two years security-related experience. 

One year of supervisory experience. 

Other combinations of education or experience may be substituted. 

A training assignment may be considered based on facility needs. 

Must pass a background and fingerprint check.  

Must have a valid driver’s license.  

Successful completion of on-the-job training is required.    

Skills in the use of modern security equipment, de-escalating volatile situations, and interacting with offenders effectively are desired.
