The Department of Natural Resources & Conservation is seeking a Business Analyst to join the Forestry/Trust Land Division.

The DNRC/FTLD mission is to ensure Montana’s land and water resources provide benefits for present and future generations.  The Forest Management Bureau provides comprehensive spatial data management systems through collaboration with the State of Montana - IT.  The ESRI platform is the primary vehicle for managing data, mobile technology, WebGIS and remote sensing.  The Trust Lands Management System 2.0 is an SQL web-interface application that function as a business management system as well as a Land Management System bridge and supports fiscal services, all 6 FTLD Bureaus and subsequent other program needs across the Division and the DNRC.

Position Overview:    Reporting to the FMB Chief, this position provides functional support for the TLMS 2.0 System. Note from the Manager

Dear Prospective Applicant,

As the Chief of the DNRC Trust Lands Forest Management Bureau, I want to express my sincere gratitude for your decision to apply for this position. The Trust Lands Management data System (TLMS) is much more than a traditional tabular data system. The TLMS is built on a robust tech stack that maximizes feature service integration through the ESRI platform,  intensive mobile technology apps, dashboarding, WebGIS (AGOL), Remote Sensing and complex ESRI Experience workflows. While not fully built out, the TLMS is in lockstep with all business-side operations in conducting the Trust Lands Mission (Forestry, Minerals, Ag & Grazing, Real Estate, & Recreation) and subsequent management of 5.2 million surface acres (6.2 million subsurface) for the benefit of the K-12 public school system. Managing our trust lands is more than just a job, working with the DNRC is akin to being part of a family. We work hard and play hard. Take advantage of year-round recreation opportunities while living in Big Sky country. Both communities are regional destinations, and an outdoor enthusiast’s dream. Check Missoula, Montana Official Travel & Tourism Information | Destination Missoula and Helena, Montana | Destination Montana for more information. Thank you for considering this opportunity, and we look forward to reviewing your application materials in detail. Your interest is a testament to the promising future we are building here at DNRC.
