KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have the following knowledge, skills or abilities:
Knowledge of:
- The principles and practices of mathematics and the physical sciences including algebra and the properties of solids, liquids and gases
- Industry specific publications
- State and national standards, bureau laws and administrative rules, specifications and tolerances for weighing devices
- Installation and use requirements for variety of devices
- Safety protocols
- National Institute for Standards and Technology requirements, Specifications and Tolerances for Reference Standards, and Graduated Neck Type Volumetric Field Standards
- Inspection and investigation methods and techniques
- Commodity marketing, packaging, advertising, and labeling practices and requirements
- Chain of evidence procedures
Skills in:
- The operation and maintenance of a variety of weighing and measuring devices, pickups, heavy trucks, semi-tractor trailers, weight dollies, hoists, general hand tools, welding equipment
- Communicating effectively verbally and in writing and in deductive reasoning and applying a variety of regulations and standards to various commodities.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Extensive travel is required for this position. The successful candidate must live in Great Falls, Shelby, or Havre or the surrounding area.
The successful candidate must have a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and must pass a DOT drug test and physical after an offer of employment has been made. Driving experience is preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Relevant associate degree
- And 3-years of experience in regulatory enforcement or working with scales or meters
- Or 5 years directly related qualifying experience.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered on a case-by-case basis.
