JOB OVERVIEW – This position makes the criminal justice system more accessible to victims of crime by providing comprehensive advocacy and support.
- The Victim Witness Coordinator provides comprehensive services to victims, their families, family members of offenders, and witnesses participating in parole hearings.
- This position requires presence in hearings to account for dispositions, victim and witness statements.
- This position develops and conducts trainings for service-agencies, community-based programs and criminal justice personnel. The victim witness coordinator also works in collaboration with other victim service and criminal justice agencies.
- This position's primary responsibilities are to assist victims of crime, protect and advocate for the rights of victims, provide necessary information and prevent further victimization.

QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or related field.
- 3 years’ experience in a position in which the primary job responsibility is providing services to victims of crime and criminal justice.
- Serving as a volunteer under a victim services program is considered experience and should be included in work history.
- Other equivalent combinations of education and/or related work experience will also be considered.
