We are looking for a Professional Engineer to join our team in the Solid Waste Program of DEQ. A Professional Engineer for the Solid Waste Program is responsible for reviewing design plans and engineering submittals for landfill applications, expansions, and structural components of landfills and other solid waste management facilities. This position is also responsible for site visits and compliance assistance at these facilities.

The Professional Engineer position includes a career ladder for professional development and pay progression.  

Minimum requirements include:
•    Licensed professional engineer as required by Section 37-67-301, MCA, and the Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.   
•    Education and experience requirements as described by Section 37-67-323, MCA. 
•    Preferred Experience in mining and/or environmental engineering. 
•    Current valid Driver's License and clean driving record in accordance with State of Montana Vehicle Use Policy
