Works directly with business program managers and Legislative Branch staff to analyze and understand business operations and processes. Uses this understanding to develop business case justifications for technology advances and expenditures. Oversees the analysis, development, implementation, and maintenance of medium-scale and large-scale information systems. Manages and/or participates in IT projects. Coordinates training to improve technical competence of staff. Works closely with the Operations Services Manager to ensure technology change recommendations fit the existing or planned IT infrastructure. Works with Information Services staff to resolve functional users’ technical support needs. Reports to the Operations Services Manager and exercises team lead supervision for projects undertaken. This is a non-partisan position.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field plus 6 years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent amount of education and experience. Project Management Professional (or equivalent) certification preferred.
This position is eligible for telework on a hybrid basis, the employee must reside in the Helena area and be able to come into the office on a routine basis. No teleworking is available during a legislative session.
