· Substantial knowledge of state payroll and personnel systems including the SABHRS Human Resources Module (HR).
· Basic knowledge of state government and the Montana Legislature
· Ability to learn, review, make suggestions and apply policies and procedures using MCA, ARM, MOM Policy, and internal Branch policies.
· Ability to take direction, work independently, show initiative, be organized, be able to prioritize, and be dedicated to completing assignments.
· Ability to interpret complex information and suggest data and fact driven solutions
· Ability to maintain accuracy and to be detailed oriented
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
· Skill in Microsoft Office 360 suite including Excel for data analysis, payroll reconciliation, research, and error correction
· Skill in written and verbal communication with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse audiences
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience in payroll administration, safety or emergency management. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
