KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES:
If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have the following knowledge, skills or abilities:
- Knowledge of mine safety and health concepts.
- Skills in conducting incident or safety investigations.
- Ability to write technical reports.
- Skills in teaching wide range of audiences with diverse backgrounds and levels of understanding of mine safety.
- Ability to work closely and constructively with other staff members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires travel in all types of weather and road conditions. Applicant must possess a valid Montana driver's license.
Must have a MSHA Part 48 Instructor Card (Blue Card) or ability to obtain a card within 6 months of employment.
This requires:
- Three (3) years’ practical mining experience, or
- A bachelors’ degree in a related field and one-year (1) practical mining experience.
Your preparation for this opportunity could include a combination of relevant experiences including:
- Qualifications are generally met by a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, mine engineering or related field, and one year of directly related experience,
OR
- Any combination of equivalent experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position will be considered.
Preferred:
- A Certified Mine Safety Professional (CMSP) designation.
- Experience in the coal mining industry.
