Montana Correctional Enterprises (MCE) lies at the heart of the Montana Department of Corrections’ Programs and Rehabilitations Division. Employees work closely with inmate workers, teaching job skills along with the work ethic for which Big Sky Country is known. Whether it’s by herding cattle, working under the hood of a vehicle, crafting custom log furniture, or welding, the men and women involved in MCE programs while incarcerated leave prison knowing their future is as bright as they choose to make it.
The Inmate Production Officer is responsible for supervising adult male offenders at the MCE Industries Program located at Montana State Prison (MSP). This position is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the assigned manufacturing center within prescribed time requirements and within the established costs of manufacturing.
This position requires a combination of hands-on manufacturing knowledge, regulatory awareness, program coordination skills, and strong communication abilities. It offers a unique opportunity to contribute to workforce development, and public service in a correctional environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The knowledge, skills and abilities for this position are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to:
High school diploma or equivalent
At least five years of experience directing the work of others
Two years of job-related supervisory experience
Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
