Qualifications for this Career Opportunity
Extensive knowledge of the theory and principles of government accounting, procurement and contracting.
Thorough knowledge of state procurement, risk management and contracting laws and procedures.
Ability to perform intellectual analysis and evaluations in forming a variety of administrative and program management responsibilities; to independently research and interpret information and develop evaluation methods and procedure for state and federal contracts and grants.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail, time management and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees, contractors and other agencies in the public.
Ability to operate a personal computer in general office equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, including using spreadsheets, word processing, database, e-mail, internet, and other computer programs.
Meet minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field.
Two years of job-related experience in finance, auditing, or accounting.
Experience with contract management and procurement or related high-level administrative support is preferred.
Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Additional Information
This position may be eligible for partial telework within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy.
This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective July 1, 2026
