Budget Analyst 3

Qualifications - External

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field; and
• Four years of relevant experience; OR
• Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

• A thorough understanding of state budgeting and accounting
• Specific experience performing complex analyses in a professional setting
• Knowledge of data management and data structures

• Manage a dynamic workload with regular shifting priorities
• Identify complex problems, identify root causes, and seek solutions using problem-solving and critical thinking
• Clearly communicate technical issues, impacts, and solutions to a non-technical audience
• Accurately document information and decisions to ensure recommended solutions meet business needs and requirements
• Monitor deliverables to ensure timely completion of projects
• Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and develop optimization strategies
• Operate MS Office software products and learn new tools quickly
